Who am I?

I am a Methodist Christian. I am old-school in my personal theology, yet I have an interest in and passion for the world. I spend a lot of time and energy trying to understand it, make sense of it, and minister to it. I read a good deal of contemporary economic, political, and cultural theory and listen to a lot of the talking heads in alternative media. I try to operate on the same wavelength while also staying rooted in the scriptures and being a present husband and father. I have very little original thought, but the synthesis and balance of ideas that I present is (hopefully) worthy and helpful.

Why subscribe?

Subscribers will receive the best thoughts I have to offer, intended for mutual encouragement and strengthening. Anyone who likes my worldview will get that regular content in your inbox. I’m not going to pretend to have any kind of secret teaching or anything. But it would give me a lot of joy to have folks sign on to my project here in order to try to share in a common worldview. The world is fractured enough. I hope we can come together around a faithful historic understanding of what it means to be faithful covenant people in the midst of a corrupt generation.

Hey I'm a Global Methodist pastor living in rural Northeastern Oklahoma, leading two small churches here. I like big thoughts and beliefs, but I think small town life is the way to be. Substack is my larger engagement with the world. Enjoy!
