I enjoyed spending a good deal of time today writing, and I had hoped to send out a thoughtful article a couple hours ago. But I showed the product to Sara Beth, and she warned that it was a bit “intense.” It might do me well to sit on it a bit longer and see if perhaps I might craft it a bit better.
At this point I have over 230 subscribers, 12 of whom have decided to fund this effort of mine. I realize people haven’t signed on so that I can just sit around and do nothing. I’m not doing nothing. I just need time to figure out how I want to say some of these things.
I actually have two articles all but completed: one on the threat of pharmaceuticals to the Christian faith, the other on practices around death that are unhelpful in the Christian faith. Both will cause many to take offense. I think both need to be written, as I have seen little to nothing dealing with these topics that are so pervasive in the church.
My hope is that these articles will actually help many to stop making mistakes that they are perhaps too close to see. I rejoice that you have all signed on for the ride. So thank you for letting me have something of a writer’s mulligan for this week. I hope you all attend worship and are a blessing to your church and your God tomorrow morning!
To thank you for your support and patience, here is a picture of my lovely children:
I had just arrived home and had exited my car to find them all hanging out together, pretending to be on a canoe. Such is the life of home schooled children who have no option but to be friends! If you haven’t already, check out the segment I did with my eldest, Susanna, this week:
Brother Jeffrey, I am personally looking forward to reading both of your proposed articles. The one on death, because I’m involved in ministry to folks in a nursing home, and that’s a constant reality. The other one on Big Pharma, because I’m already convinced that they, along with other large corrupt institutions, are being used by the “dark powers of this world” to war against “the children of light”. May God grant you the grace needed to offer words of wisdom and clarity to the “called out ones”. Blessings.
Go ahead with your article. Sometimes it helps to be offended and take a step back to think about that point of view I have been waiting
